Almighty Lord, grant to me the ears to hear Your
invitation to enter into the rest that You alone offer.
Give to me the boldness to be Your voice of grace to my neighbor. Amen.
The Lord has given His church a great responsibility and privilege to bring His Gospel to the "ends of the world." When the ends of the world are coming to us the imperative is augmented. But we are more inclined to act first and pray later. Yet, Jesus tells His disciples that while the harvest is ready to be brought in, the bringing begins with prayer for the workers. It is to that end that this site is dedicated.
This site is much more than information. This site calls the visitor to prayer. Jesus tells us to ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers into the harvest. In this we see the heart of God, the mission of Jesus, and initial action for disciples in the buidling of the Kingdom, namely prayer. This is counter to our cultural context that insists we take action and stop thinking. Will you assist in building the Kingdom? Sit down and make prayer for the mission a priority in your life of faith.
The goal set by the convention of the Texas District is to begin 200 new "word and sacrament" congregations by the year 2017 (mission 200 or m2c). Considering the numbers of people moving into Texas each day, we would like to "blow by" this number. Yet even the 200 number will not be reached without the Lord's blessing. This brings us to our knees before God to seek not only His blessing but leading as well. You are invited to join us as we lift up our hearts and voices to God in prayer for His mission.
Use the resources, reflections, and lists during your prayer time to lift the cross high and to see His kingdom extended.
