Home Starting a Mission Resources

The goal of the Texas District LCMS is to begin 200 new Word and Sacrament ministries in Texas between the year 2004 and the year 2017.

The map to the left indicates mission starts and work since 2004. To see an interactive map click here.

The M2C Prayer Partner Initiative is a vital and critical prelude to planting congregations and reaching the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the goal of m2c to have the support of 10% of the members of the Texas District, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod praying for the mission across the state. To become a Prayer Partner Subscriber simply click here and complete the form. You will then receive a paryer page by email each Sunday evening. This prayer page will contain:

1) A Mission Highlight;
2) A Scripture reading;
3) A Reflection on that reading written by
a Missionary/Church Planter in the District;
4) Missionary Families for which to pray; and
5) Events and planting locations to hold up in prayer.

Please feel free to pass along prayer requests for specific existing missions and mission planters as well as requests for congregations planning and praying about planting a mission.

There is a new training initiative called MissionalWorker.org.  Click on the link and see what can be done.

This site contains resources, information, data, and presentations to encourage the body of Christ in Texas toward joyful response to the cross also in mission starts.
